FAQ - Senior Move Management

FAQ - Concierge/Errand Services

Often times we put off until the last minute the things we dread doing the most. Don’t make this one of those times! Sorting, packing, and unpacking, even on a good day in your younger years, was no fun. Now it is physically and emotionally taxing to sort, box, and dispose of a lifetime of accumulation.

Call 386-400-3550 or fill out the form as soon as you’ve decided it’s time to make a move.

I live across the country from my parents.
Do I need to be at their home during the moving process?

Careers, family, geography are just a few of the numerous demands that may prevent you from being in the place you want to be: helping Mom and Dad with their move. Take comfort in knowing it is not only your physical presence but also your emotional support that can help in this time of transition. We at Guardian Angel - Senior Assistance Services know you are devoted to supporting their well-being.

We work closely with siblings, sons, and daughters, and even grandchildren, via email, phone or fax to get your loved ones moved while adhering to the wishes of family members who cannot be physically present. We are prepared to handle sensitive issues that may arise and treat everything with complete confidentiality.

05 /
If you're helping sort through my important paperwork, are you background checked?

Yes, we have had national background checks performed on all of our employees.

06 /
Do you help with floor planning?

Yes, we will obtain or create the floor plan, taking actual detailed measurements of your new home. We will measure all the pieces of furniture you wish to move and help you design the space. We will help you determine what will safely and comfortably fit in your space as well.

07 /
How do I disperse the things I don't want
to move?

There are many options to either sell or donate your items.  We can assist by holding estate or garage sales, coordinate donation drop-off or pickup, list your items on Ebay or FB Marketplace, or consign your items.

We can also help coordinate shipments of your items to friends, family, or your next destination.

08 /
What is the timeline for a "typical" move?

A number of things can factor into the amount of time required to move.  Therefore, it is difficult to offer a cookie cutter response to this question.  With that said, we will take you from the initial consultation onto tagging, sorting and downsizing, packing and moving, and finally onto unpacking and getting you setup in your new home.  Planning ahead and using our well-organized methods will make your transition as seamless as possible.

Who uses your services?
05 /

We serve older adults striving to maintain their independence, most often in their homes or in senior communities. We also serve their families – active people balancing obligations to work, family, travel and more. Whether local or living at a distance, we can keep families informed.

We also support family members with errand-running, vacant house checks, and other services that enable them to have more quality family time. We work only with those who welcome our help and support.  Some people need us weekly, others monthly, or seasonally. Our business model allows flexibility and is always customized to your needs.

Are you affiliated with any health care agency?
06 /

We are an independent company with knowledge of local resources including health care needs, vendors, agencies, stores, LGBT support, religious connections, and so much more.

Will I still be in charge?
07 /

Absolutely, 100%. We do as much or as little as you choose. We understand how hard it can be to turn over responsibilities to someone new. We aim to do it just the way you would do it yourself, just the way you like it. If you can communicate what you want and like, we will make it happen.

What about confidentiality?
08 /

We sign a confidentiality agreement so you can be certain that personal and/or proprietary information is kept entirely confidential. We understand that you need to feel trust in the person who sees your finances, folds your laundry, and straightens out your pantry. And we will never divulge that you are our client without your express permission.
